This fall, my new all time favorite lip sticks came out. Now guess how many different shades NARS came out with...40 different shades! That is crazy. However, it's not crazy if you compare it to how many different shades MAC Cosmetics has. But this is just one line/type of lipstick and not 9 different finishes like MAC.
NARS describes these lipsticks as a "modern lipstick so shamelessly seductive in touch and texture the sensation is audacious. Unadulterated luxury glides on like satin across skin with single-stroke coverage." To me, the lip sticks are just that. They are exactly what I would describe as a satin lipstick with AMAZING pigmentation. They are definitely not glossy because they stay put on the lips and aren't exactly shiny. They also are also not matte, since they are not drying and are still somewhat creamy, especially when applying to the lips. NARS also says these are "long-lasting" and they aren't lying. I do have to say though, on my lips at least, Rita did stay on my lips way longer than Anna did. I haven't quite figured out exactly why yet. But don't get me wrong, even though Anna was not as long wearing as Rita was when I wore them, doesn't mean they aren't all long-lasting. It could be what I ate or how often I took sips of my drink that didn't allow Anna to show its full potential. The 2 colors I have are Rita and Anna. Rita is described as a 'scarlet red' and is my perfect red lip. Then Anna is described as a 'smokey rose.' I absolutely love the color of Anna. It is a nude with a little bit of berry to it. It is still a dark lipstick but still neutral and to me is the "Kylie Jenner lip color." So overall the new NARS Audacious Lip Sticks are amazing! You are bound to find your "perfect shade" out of all 40 that they have created. They are definitely worth the $32 price tag.
